San Diego Airport Authority nearing end of firm review

LOS ANGELES: The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority is in the final phases of reviewing agencies for a three-year, potentially multimillion-dollar contract for help with outreach for a new airport site.

LOS ANGELES: The San Diego County Regional Airport Authority is in the final phases of reviewing agencies for a three-year, potentially multimillion-dollar contract for help with outreach for a new airport site.

The agency received eight responses to an RFQ and is now interviewing candidates, said authority PR director Diana Lucero.

The budget for the contract has not been set and will be negotiated with the winner.

The airport, which has a three-person in-house team, is searching for outside help because it is under a legal mandate to present San Diego voters with a proposed new airport site by November 2006.

"This is a highly complex and controversial issue we will be dealing with," said Lucero. "We need [a PR agency's] expertise."
