VALLEJO, CA: The US Agriculture Department has determined that the US Forest Service's decision to hire a PR agency for a $90,000 contract was legal. Earlier this year, the Forest Service hired OneWorld Communications to promote its controversial logging plan for the Sierra Nevada. After two Democratic congressmen asked for an investigation, the Agriculture Department deemed the expenditure legal.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA: IT services firm Wipro has tapped the Fortex Group to raise the company's brand awareness among targeted top-tier media and vertical/trade publications. Wipro is one of India's largest IT services companies. Fortex will also work with the Indian National Congress party to coordinate media relations with US business media.
