REDWOOD CITY, CA: Analyst intelligence company Tekrati has launched a free online news service called The Industry Analyst Reporter that covers findings from more than 300 technology analyst firms.

The site is updated throughout the day during weekdays.

"We particularly look for reports that cover market size and forecasts," said Tekrati founder and president Barbara French.

She added: "We try to summarize that information into a couple of paragraphs and then point into the analyst's website as close as we can to the actual report."

French said the site pays close attention to controversial reports, an example of which is a recent report that corporate performance management systems are failing.

"It's important for CIOs and their staff to look at a variety of topics and understand where analysts are starting to have cautions and concerns on either vendor claims or on how people are using tools," she said, citing the time-consuming nature of gleaning what different analysts are saying about different markets and vendors.

French is editing the site herself and is working to assemble a pool of freelancers. The site also includes an analyst directory, a calendar of analyst firm events, and a section called Analyst Caf?, with news on individual analysts and firms, account wins, and tips on working with analysts.
