DEARBORN, MI: Charlie Holleran, former SVP of corporate communications at Computer Associates, has joined the Ford Motor Company as VP and chief communications officer.

DEARBORN, MI: Charlie Holleran, former SVP of corporate communications at Computer Associates, has joined the Ford Motor Company as VP and chief communications officer.

The move comes as Jim Vella, Ford's VP of public affairs and chief of staff, takes on an expanded role as VP, chief of staff, reporting to chairman Bill Ford. He was named VP of public affairs and chief of staff a year ago.

"Jim will continue to be Mr. Ford's liaison with senior management and to other outside constituents," said Oscar Suris, Ford's global news manager.

When announcing the news to his public affairs staff last Thursday, Vella told his team that it was at a high point in terms of its relevance to the C-suite.

Holleran, who also will report to Bill Ford, will officially assume the post on June 14. Before Computer Associates, he worked with Coca-Cola and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Dan Kaferle, Computer Associates' current SVP of public relations, will take on the corporate communications function, as well.
