NEW YORK: The second in a series of breakfast panel discussions will focus on the issue of procurement, featuring participants from corporate purchasing, PR firms, and corporate communications.

The PRWeek/Peppercom series "Closing the Gap" aims to examine why gaps exist between communications and other corporate functions, including sales and legal.

The role of procurement in agency reviews and in negotiating PR contracts is a big topic for the industry right now.

Addressing this timely and complex issue will be Joe Duffy, assistant VP of procurement at Allstate; Lou Capozzi, CEO of MS&L; Charlie Young, SVP of marketing and communications at Tyco; Adam Yates, VP of PR at Fuji; and Kathy Cripps, president of the Council of Public Relations Firms.

The breakfast roundtable will take place on June 24 at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City.
