WASHINGTON: The California Dried Plum Board is preparing to issue a $200,000 RFP seeking help developing a global push promoting what are more commonly known as prunes.
The RFP calls for three tasks and acknowledges that that might require more than one agency. The first is to help strategize a national brand-building campaign; the second is to help formulate an international one; and the third is to develop a system of measurement for both.
Although the RFP will be issued by the plum board, the funding for the work will come from the US Department of Agriculture. The plum board will be hearing all pitches and making final decisions.
It is unclear whether an agency will eventually be sought to run any resulting campaign.
