Ogilvy, WS recruit new directors for their health units

WASHINGTON and NEW YORK: Two PR agencies have made executive-level hires in healthcare, both heading social-marketing practices.

Weber Shandwick said that Pam Jenkins had joined the agency from Ogilvy Public Relations as president of health public affairs.

Ogilvy followed that announcement with the news that Kate Cronin had been named MD and co-head of the global health and medical practice, the same title Jenkins had held.

Jenkins will lead WS' Washington, DC-based social-marketing practice, which includes both pharmaceutical and nonprofit clients.

At Ogilvy, Cronin will head the global health and medical practice with Sherry Pudloski. To bolster the agency's social-marketing practice, launched last month, the position will encompass responsibilities that are additional to when Jenkins held it.

Cronin previously directed the New York healthcare practice at Porter Novelli.
