STAMFORD, CT: Creative Partners said Monday it has bought Emmanuel Kerr Kilsby, more than doubling the size of its PR operations.

Terms were not disclosed. Both firms are based in Stamford and were founded in the mid-1980s.

"We've had a long history together," said Peter Schelfhaudt, CEO and chairman of Creative, a PR, advertising, and design firm. "We've known each other over 10 years, and we used to share space together and collaborate."

Emmanuel Kerr founder Nick Kilsby was named director of Creative's PR division with the deal. With Emmanuel Kerr's seven PR employees, Creative's PR operation now totals 10 employees.

The new practitioners bring deeper experience in financial services, technology, and healthcare, said Schelfhaudt, who led the management buyout of Creative from Panoramic Communications in August 2002.

"Those were existing markets that we played to," he said, "but we wanted to fortify our capability."

Emmanuel Kerr's business-to-business PR practice has included clients like UBS and Health Net.
