Rebecca Kennedy joins GCI North America as director of media relations from ABC's World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, where she was a producer. In addition, she has worked for Good Morning America, Nightline and PrimeTime Live.

Kathy Kinney has been named VP GCI New York for the consumer practice. She leads the firm's Ciba Vision, Lipton, Dial, and Schick business. She will report to GCI Consumer, North America EVP Ellen Golden. She also expects to help with new business lead generation, a role she worked on as VP at Golin/Harris.

"I was looking for an agency that would match my experience with big brand name accounts," Kinney said, who moved back to the east coast after nine years in LA.

Jim Wetmore has joined the firm as VP of GCI New York's healthcare practice, serving as VP on the Eli Lilly account team. He will report to AnnaMaria DeSalva, EVP of the healthcare practice. Wetmore was previously at Berry & Company Public Relations, overseeing editorial and media relations for Genzyme Corporation, Johnson & Johnson and Orthovita.

CEO Bob Feldman said that the new hires were not replacements for any previous staff and all started within this month. They will all be based out of the New York office, which now staffs about 125 people.
