NEW YORK: Elizabeth Krupnick, SVP for global communications at MasterCard, told PRWeek on Wednesday that she plans to leave the post she's held since October 2003 to start her own business-consulting firm.

"I've decided to leave MasterCard," Krupnick said, "and I've alerted management, [but] this has not been announced."

MasterCard will be her first consulting client, Krupnick said. Her departure date is in the "foreseeable future," Krupnick said, and she is helping MasterCard find a successor.

Before MasterCard, Krupnick was EVP of corporate communications at Bcom3, an agency holding company bought by Publicis Groupe in 2002.
