WASHINGTON: Longtime political operative Rory Davenport has joined Hill & Knowlton as SVP and director of its US public affairs practice.
Davenport hopes to take the practice beyond standard public affairs work, he said, incorporating aspects of corporate and international PR to help clients improve their bottom lines through regulatory and legislative efforts.
"We're trying to build a convergence practice where corporate, international, and public affairs all intersect with one another," he said.
Davenport fills the vacancy left by Neil Dhillon, who left H&K earlier this year for Financial Dynamics.
Davenport was most recently an SVP with Fleishman-Hillard. He served as a deputy field director in Richard Gephardt's 1988 presidential campaign.
