PARIS: Publicis Groupe said July 29 its revenues increased slightly during the second quarter of 2004. Revenues at the Paris-based agency holding company rose from $1.16 billion in the second quarter 2003 to $1.18 billion during the same period this year.
Like other recent quarters, Publicis did not break out revenue from its PR agencies - Publicis Dialog, Publicis Consultants, MS&L, and Rowland Communications.
"We never split our figures by activities," said Eve Magnant, director of corporate communications.
The increase is good news for Publicis, which saw its revenue drop 4.3% during in the first quarter of 2004 compared to the same period last year. The company had blamed a weak dollar for the drop.
Publicis touted worldwide industry growth as responsible for the recent increase.
"Growth in all parts of the world and in all industries has been encouraging," CEO and chairman Maurice Levy said in a statement. "And Publicis Groupe has taken advantage of this trend."
At $506.6 million, North American operations were responsible for nearly half of Publicis' second-quarter revenues.
