MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA: Financial software and services company Intuit, maker of popular programs such as TurboTax, has named Harry Pforzheimer as its VP of communications.
Pforzheimer, who will oversee all external and internal communications, will report to CMO Raymond Stern.
Pforzheimer left Ruder Finn/Switzer, where he was an EVP, earlier this year. Before that, he was Edelman's Western region president and GM of its Silicon Valley office. Prior to Edelman, Pforzheimer ran PR at Silicon Graphics.
Pforzheimer said he wants to focus on building the Intuit brand. Many people are familiar with the company's product brands, including TurboTax, QuickBooks, and Quiken, but not as familiar with the corporate brand.
"This is a Fortune 500 company, and is consistently listed as one of the top 100 places to work," said Pforzheimer, of his decision to join Intuit. "They have a fantastic culture and heritage. And effectively communicating with all of our constituencies is a top priority, from the executive management on down."
