MTV gives Lizzie Grubman a reality show

NEW YORK: Lizzie Grubman has joined the reality fray.

NEW YORK: Lizzie Grubman has joined the reality fray.

The controversial and resilient publicist's show, PoweR Girls, will debut on MTV in 2005. The show will follow Grubman and her agency through their careers, events, and lives.

Grubman is the second PR professional to recently announce participation in a reality show. In July, Richard Laermer, CEO of RLM Public Relations and author of Full Frontal PR, began filming a TLC show, Taking Care of Business, focused on helping out small business owners.

TLC gave Laermer a 13-episode commitment, while the New York Post reported that an MTV spokesperson could not confirm how many episodes of PoweR Girls would run.

Grubman told the Post, "People think that what I do is so glamorous and exciting - they don't realize how much hard work goes into running a PR agency."

She added: "I think people will see the other side of the business...It's not only about being a celebrity, but about how people are made into celebrities."
