LONDON: WPP Group, the world?s second-largest advertising and marketing company, said its revenue was $3.6 billion for the first half of this year, compared with $3.4 billion in the same period last year, an increase of 5.9%.
Profits reached $190.2 million for the first half of the year, compared with $171 million for the first half of last year, an 11.2% increase. Public relations and public affairs accounted for 10.9% of WPP?s revenue for the first half of the year, down slightly from an 11.7% share during the same period last year.
WPP's PR firms include Hill & Knowlton, Burson-Marsteller, Ogilvy PR, and Cohn & Wolfe.
North American revenue decreased 1.2% to more than $1.4 billion for the six months.
