NEW YORK: Mike Doyle, VP group manager for Ketchum in New York, has accepted a job with NBC Universal as its VP of communications for business development, international and digital media. He will begin September 27.Doyle has been with Ketchum for nine years, including five in Washington, DC, and the last four in New York. "I was fortunate to have some great conversations with [NBC Universal EVP of Communications] Anna Perez and [NBC Universal EVP of digital media, international channels, and business development] Brandon Burgess that piqued my interest. Things progressed from there," Doyle said in a statement relayed through Robyn Massey, Ketchum's VP for corporate media relations. Doyle also described his decision to change jobs as "incredibly difficult," and called Ketchum "the finest agency in the industry." Cory Shields, NBC Universal's former VP of corporate communications, left the company in July for a position at J. Walter Thompson. NBC did not return calls Friday about Doyle's hiring.
