VIENNA, VA: The US Apple Association has picked Dome HK, a Chicago arm of Hill & Knowlton, as its new agency of record. Terms were not disclosed.
Dome replaces Fleishman-Hillard, which has worked with the association for more than five years. Other firms considered for the task included Edelman and Publicis Dialog.
Dome won the assignment because "they seemed to have good experience in the food industry and the passion for it," said Nancy Foster, president and CEO of the association.
Dome will focus on PR initiatives discussing the health benefits of apples, Foster said. The firm will run the account from its Chicago office, said Doug Dome, president of Dome HK and creative director of H&K US.
The association includes 40 state and regional apple associations, representing 7,500 growers across the country and 400 companies in the apple business.
