Edelman has named former employee Tim Scerba as president and CEO of its Mexico practice.
Scerba was managing director of Edelman's Latin America regional office in Miami before relocating to Mexico City earlier this year to become general manager of Hill and Knowlton Mexico. H&K Mexico president Antonio Tamayo will act as GM until the firm finds a replacement.
"[Scerba's] work with a wide variety of companies on their in-country and trans-border communications initiatives in both Mexico and the Americas made him the ideal person for this new position," Vivian Hirsch, Edelman Latin America regional president, said in a press release.
Scerba will work closely with Miguel Rico, Edelman's Mexico City general manager, and will help design strategy for Edelman's Central America, Caribbean, and northern tier Latin America businesses.
Before joining Edelman in 2002, Scerba was publisher of Latin Trade magazine and EVP and senior manager of its Latin America technology group.
