NEW YORK: PR Newswire will launch the PR Newswire MediaRoom at this week's PRSA Conference in New York City.
The result of an exclusive partnership with Denver-based DVCO Technology, the product gives users the ability to post up-to-the-minute news on the media-room section of their companies' websites without having to consult their IT department.
The product is available in two versions: The "Communicator" offers standard features, such as e-mail-blast lists and an image library; "The Strategist" provides more elaborate functions, such as polling and surveying, and can be used as a crisis communications tool that automatically sends phone messages to a predetermined list directly from the internet.
David Armon, PR Newswire COO, said the idea to offer the product came from customers' frustrations at having to rely on IT to update company sites. "This puts the customer in the driver's seat," he said.
