ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NJ: This week, Bauer Publishing will introduce Life & Style Weekly to more than 110,000 racks across the country. The magazine, which will launch with 1 million newsstand copies, is devoted to celebrating and analyzing the fashion and lifestyle of celebrities.
"There's a very big need for a style weekly," said Mark Pasetsky, general manager of Life & Style. "It's our belief that the trends will not wait for monthly deadlines at this point."
Each issue of Life & Style will dissect the latest looks of celebrities while providing a do-it-yourself guide for readers, Pasetsky said. Individual products in all price ranges will be shown alongside the celebrity pictures, with information on where to purchase the items. In addition, a shopping directory will be posted each week on the magazine's website, with links available to the retailer's website.
Although fashion and beauty will play an integral role in the content of the publication, it also will include other aspects of celebrity life. But the content will not focus on celebrity gossip, unlike In Touch, also published by Bauer.
"We cover everything that encompasses lifestyle - it's restaurants, it's spas," said editor-in-chief Sheryl Berk. "Any way that a celebrity is living their life, whatever they're doing, wherever they're going, wherever they're shopping ... we're welcome to covering."
