SAN FRANCISCO and PARIS: Business Wire has entered into a distribution agreement with Agence-France Presse (AFP).
The deal makes Business Wire the only newswire to have access to AFP's Asia-Pacific region. The agreement is set to go live this week.
"It's a way for our clients to get their news in front of the major agenda-setting media in Asia," said Neil Hershberg, VP of global media. This agreement supplements a similar one formed with AP International this past summer, which allows Business Wire to distribute to AP International clients in the European and Asia-Pacific networks.
"Together [AP and AFP] really form the cornerstones of our distribution to Asia," added Hershberg.
AFP's coverage in the Asia-Pacific region includes Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam, among other markets.
Business Wire also has agreements with news agencies in other countries, such as GT Press in Japan and United News of India.
