PALO ALTO, CA: Drug manufacturer Connetics is working with Communications Strategies (CS) to introduce its newly FDA-approved foam acne medication, Evoclin.
The product is being positioned as a pimple-fighter that can be used over large areas of the body. It is not sticky and will not stain clothes, according to a company product manager.
CS is leading the launch of the product with media relations, consumer education, and third- party ally development, noted agency SVP Pat Garrison, who declined to discuss the budget.
The agency has hired Megan James Roberts from Cohn & Wolfe to serve as an SAE, managing accounts for clients Connetics and King Pharmaceuticals.
Communications Strategies also will handle PR for Velac, an acne product still in the pipeline.
The topical prescription acne market is estimated at $700 million.
