BANNOCKBURN, IL: IPC International, a major provider of security services to shopping centers and retailers, has hired Dome HK as its AOR.
"While a majority of major mall owners are aware of us, the smaller owners are not," said Robert Nutt, IPC's CFO. Media outreach will be used to expand awareness of the firm and its services, he said.
IPC and Dome had worked on a project basis four years ago, which led to recent discussion about an AOR relationship. IPC ultimately signed Dome without a competitive pitch and without consulting other firms, said Nutt.
Dome will have three people working on the account, said president Doug Dome.
The firm will target retail trade titles and the general-business media in markets where IPC provides mall security.
"It's very important that their brand be recognized in the community," he said.
Messaging will emphasize the company's expertise at providing security, its history - it has been in business since 1978 - and its ties to major security organizations around the world, Dome said.
IPC is privately held and does not disclose revenues. Nutt declined to reveal planned PR spending.
