WASHINGTON: The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) plans to issue an RFP this week to raise awareness of mental-health issues.
The account encompasses PR activities around a range of disorders, from depression to Alzheimer's.
The campaign will include media relations, education efforts, and ally development to highlight new research and promote disease prevention.
The winning agency will work with the public and sub-groups (such as blacks, Hispanics, college students, children, and adolescents) to emphasize the treatments available for mental- health disorders.
The electronic RFP is expected to be released Wednesday. Proposals will be due January 7.
The NIMH expects to make its decision in the spring. A budget has not yet been disclosed.
