BEDFORD, MA: Kristin Hilf has joined software firm RSA Security as director of corporate communications. Hilf will oversee PR and executive communications, as well as the company's website and intranet.

RSA Security offers a range of security products, from identity management services to technologies enabling secure corporate mobile access.

Hilf joins from Waggener Edstrom, where she was a VP overseeing the Boston office. Wag Ed is currently looking for her replacement.

"Security is probably the hottest technology sector right now," said Hilf. "And the sector is maturing and expanding. So the company needs to be more competitive, including with its communications."

Despite the growth of the security sector, the market can only accommodate so many companies that do just one thing or offer one service, such as anti-virus software or virtual private networks. Hilf said she foresees consolidation, with fewer companies offering more solutions.

Before Wag Ed, Hilf was with Cunningham Communication, which became Citigate Cunningham, for 14 years. She also worked at Hill & Knowlton.
