MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA: Search giant Google is working with CarryOn Communication, apparently focusing on the company's enterprise division. Google handles most of its PR and communications in-house.
Google and CarryOn didn't comment on the relationship, neither did they confirm nor deny that they were working together.
But CarryOn's website mentions Google as a client on an executive's bio, as well as on a press release about a new staffer.
Google is also listed on the website under the "Clients in the News" section, with a link to an October 15 InfoWorld story.
CarryOn is also listed as the external media relations contact for Google on a media tip sheet for KMWorld & Intranets 2004 Conference and Exhibition, also from mid-October. A product manager in Google's enterprise division spoke at the conference.
Google's enterprise unit develops search technology for corporate clients who need search functionality on their intranet, extranet, or public websites.
Google, which went public this summer, is facing increasing competition from tech stalwarts, such as Microsoft, as well as from start-ups including Accoona, which used former President Bill Clinton to introduce the service in a speech last week.
