MIAMI, FL: Alfredo Richard has been named VP of corporate communications for the Telemundo Network.
He will be responsible for directing PR, media relations, events, community relations, and employee and corporate communications.
"It's really a very exciting time to be at Telemundo," Richard said, adding that he plans to make PR an integral part of the network's business growth strategy.
Richard will supervise a four-person, in-house PR team in Miami in addition to working with two New York-based agencies. Increasing coverage of Telemundo in business and trade press is a priority, he said.
"I don't think Spanish media gets enough attention, yet," he added.
Prior to coming to Telemundo, Richard worked as SVP of communications at Claxson Interactive Group, a television, radio, pay television, and internet company. He also worked in media relations and communications for MTV Networks.
