LOS ANGELES: Mark Dowley, head of marketing at Hollywood talent agency Endeavor, is being courted by holding companies in deals that could include a stake or full ownership of Endeavor Marketing Solutions (EMS), according to industry sources.

Dowley is considered one of the top entertainment marketers in the business and was an early champion of an integrated approach between marketing disciplines. EMS has brokered integrated marketing deals for such companies as Entertainment Weekly and American Express.

Before joining Endeavor last year, he led IPG's now-defunct Sports & Entertainment Group, which encompassed Hollywood PR agencies PMK/HBH and Bragman, Nyman, Cafarelli. Dowley also has served as vice chairman of McCann-Erickson.

Industry insiders have recently linked Dowley and Endeavor with Omnicom, IPG, and WPP, although none has commented publicly. Most recently, Omnicom was said to be in talks to acquire all or part of EMS.

Dowley did not return a call for comment.
