NEW YORK: WPP Group has been named by PRWeek's editorial team as Who to Watch in 2005. The annual feature makes its debut in this week's issue.
The holding company was chosen chiefly for its stance in the debate over the reputation, leadership, and strategy of such entities, particularly in an age where clients look for more creative solutions to marketing needs. Also notable are the stories emerging from WPP's PR brands, including Burson-Marsteller's new CEO, Tom Nides, and the exemplary turnaround of Cohn & Wolfe as engineered by its CEO, Donna Imperato.
Also noted as an honorable mention is Andy Polansky, president of Weber Shandwick. Having been awarded a greater global role last year, Polansky has become an increasingly vital figure in driving the firm forward, especially now that CEO Harris Diamond is gaining more responsibility within parent company Interpublic Group.
The Who to Watch feature also identifies others that are on PRWeek's radar. They are divided into four groups: individuals, agencies, corporate communications professionals, and media entities.
