SUNNYVALE, CA: Enterprise software company Hyperion Solutions has retained Blanc & Otus as its AOR for product and tech PR. The $544 million company had previously relied on a network of communications counselors to service those areas.

The company opted to move from a group of counselors to an agency because it had been focusing heavily on its corporate communications and now wanted to use that brand equity to shine the spotlight on its products, said Bob Schettino, corporate communications VP.

Media First PR handles the company's corporate communications.

"As we've turned around our corporate communications programs, our company has grown and our needs have evolved," said Schettino. "We've taken the virtual model [of a network of counselors] as far as it could go."

"We want to help extend the company's leadership role in business-performance management," said B&O president and CEO Greg Spector.
