NEW YORK: Senior Forbes reporter Alexandra Kirkman is leaving journalism, and will begin work as an account supervisor at Sloane & Company later this month.

Agency CEO Elliot Sloane said that he had known Kirkman's talents would serve his firm well.

"She's done everything from banking to telecom to retail, to funds [at Forbes]," he said, "which is a good cross section, and relates very nicely to our client mix."

Kirkman said that she was ready to move on after seven years at Forbes. "Smart, thoughtful PR can really make a genuine difference in the way a company is perceived," she said. "I thought it would be a good new challenge for me."

Kirkman will be the first former national journalist to join Sloane & Company.
