LOS ANGELES: Vivendi Universal has chosen Golin Harris for internal and external corporate PR work after an extensive RFP process.

Vivendi's director of corporate communications, Flavie Lemarchand-Wood, confirmed that the New York office of Golin would handle the account, but declined to give specifics about the work.

"I'm thrilled with the team," Lemarchand-Wood said via e-mail. "I'm not giving out additional details at this point."

Vivendi owns numerous entertainment companies, including Universal Music Group and Vivendi Universal Games. The company also owns an 18.5% stake in NBC Universal.

The company made headlines recently when the French press reported that it might help video-game maker Ubisoft fend off a possible takeover by Electronic Arts.

Vivendi Universal also weathered some bad press late last year, when its former CEO and its former chairman were each fined more than $1 million for giving inaccurate financial communications over a two-year period.
