CHICAGO: Bob McEwen has become a principal and managing director of the Chicago office of The Dilenschneider Group.
In 2003, McEwen left a senior post with Burson-Marsteller to pursue playwriting. He had been Midwest president of Burson, based in Chicago, from April 2002 until late 2003. Before that, he ran Fleishman-Hillard's Chicago office.
"The business model is different than at units of holding companies," he said. "It's mostly retainer driven versus hourly rates utilization."
Founder Robert Dilenschneider said he expects McEwen to increase the business done by the agency's Chicago office and to grow the staff.
McEwen continues to pursue his playwriting as a resident playwright at the Chicago Dramatists, a local theater workshop.
