WASHINGTON: Former Clinton adviser Joel Johnson, cofounder of DC firm The Harbour Group (HG), has joined The Glover Park Group (GPG) as head of its new legislative affairs practice.

WASHINGTON: Former Clinton adviser Joel Johnson, cofounder of DC firm The Harbour Group (HG), has joined The Glover Park Group (GPG) as head of its new legislative affairs practice.

HG named two new MDs to replace Johnson: Suzanne Spaulding, former executive director of the National Committee on Terrorism; and Thurgood Marshall Jr., a partner at law firm Swidler Berlin, parent company of HG, and son of the late Supreme Court justice.

Rich Marcus, cofounder and MD of HG, said that Johnson's desire to focus on politically oriented work prompted the move. Johnson served as senior communications strategist on John Kerry's 2004 campaign.

GPG was founded by former Clinton press secretary Joe Lockhart and former Al Gore advisers Carter Eskew and Michael Feldman.
