BWR hires product placement head

LOS ANGELES: BWR has made two hires that help it formally dive into product placement and strengthen its indie film division.

LOS ANGELES: BWR has made two hires that help it formally dive into product placement and strengthen its indie film division.

The boutique agency, which was purchased by Ogilvy five years ago, has hired Matt Meyerson to head a new product placement division, and Chris Libby to increase its corporate entertainment and independent film capabilities.

Meyerson most recently headed his own action sports marketing firm, and has worked on projects with BWR for a number of years, he said. He added that the agency decided to open the new division based in part on strong interest from both Ogilvy and BWR clients in their product placement abilities.

Chris Libby has also joined the firm as VP of film and entertainment, coming most recently from his role as director of the film practice at MPRM.

B/W/R also announced that founding partners Paul Baker, Larry Winokur and Nanci Ryder have singed new contracts to remain with the company through 2007, and promoted two executives, Dvora Vener Englefield and Leslie Sloane Zelnik. Zelnik is now managing director, talent, based in New York, and Englefield is VP music.
