ARMONK, NY: Jim Finn will rejoin IBM as VP of corporate communications starting April 1.
Finn, who in IBM's EMEA headquarters in the 1990s, confirmed he was joining the company but declined to elaborate.
According to an internal memo announcing Finn's position, he will "take on a range of corporate initiatives, including programs to more effectively communicate IBM's business model and growth strategies." He will report to SVP of communications Jon Iwata.
"It's a pleasure to bring aboard a communications leader with Jim's extensive corporate communications experience and knowledge of the information technology industry," said Iwata in the memo. "And it's an added pleasure to welcome Jim back to the IBM communications team."
Finn left Oracle in January as VP of global corporate communications. Finn has also worked for Chase Manhattan Bank and General Motors.
