NEW YORK: Bliss, Gouverneur & Associates has acquired NY-based Walsh Communications to form a $3.2 million company.

Under the agreement, Walsh Communications will exist as an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Bliss Gouverneur. Jerome Walsh, president of Walsh Communications, will continue to run the firm. The two entities will employ 24 people.

The agencies have worked together before. In 2000 they formed a joint venture geared toward internet and technology businesses. The agencies have worked in the same office suite since that time. Principal John Bliss said the acquisition had been bandied about since the onset of their joint venture.

"We have such a similarity in our client base and a great deal of mutual respect that it made sense to hook up into a larger enterprise," Bliss said.
