WASHINGTON: MWW Group has named William Morley managing director of its DC office.
Morley, who was VP of congressional affairs at the US Chamber of Commerce for seven years and the association's lead congressional lobbyist prior to his new position, begins April 11.
He replaces Jonathan Slade, who headed the office for 12 years. Slade will remain with the firm as special counsel.
Morley told PRWeek that his lobbying and PR experience made him a natural fit for MWW, adding that he is looking to work in the appropriations, legal reform, and international affairs practice areas.
"Bill brings a vast network of relationships with key congressional and administration players and a deep understanding of the inner workings of Capitol Hill and the Executive Branch," said Michael W. Kempner, MWW's president and CEO in a release. "During his tenure with the Chamber, he helped lead the business community's efforts on trade issues, legal reform, and pharmaceutical industry priorities, and demonstrated an extraordinary ability to work effectively with both sides of the aisle."
Prior to his Chamber tenure, Morley was general counsel to Senate Judiciary Chairman Arlen Specter and a business litigator at Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth in Newport Beach, CA.
