SAN DIEGO and SACRAMENTO: Fleishman-Hillard has lost two GMs from its California offices.

SAN DIEGO and SACRAMENTO: Fleishman-Hillard has lost two GMs from its California offices.

San Diego GM Michael Busselen is leaving after 10 years to join Solectron as VP of corporate communications. He joins the $12 billion electronics manufacturing services company, based in Milpitas, CA, on May 2.

Sacramento GM John Segale also has left after 16 years to start his own firm, Precision PR.

Fleishman plans to fill the GM roles internally and is still considering candidates, according to West Coast president Curt Kundred.

Busselen referred to Solectron as "the largest company you haven't heard of." The technology recession had a painful impact on both Solectron and many of its customers, including IBM, Hewlett-Packard, and Cisco Systems. Busselen is helping to build an in-house team for the company as it bounces back.

Segale said he decided to start his Roseville, CA-based firm to be closer to home. And with the Sacramento office in strong shape, he felt now was a good time to launch his own venture.
