NEW YORK: Alltel has retained Alan Taylor Communications (ATC) to provide marcomm work on large promotions, such as its NASCAR sponsorship and "TXT2Win" sweepstakes.
Lucie Pathmann, director of sponsorships and publicity for the $8-billion provider of telephony and internet services, said that ATC would be used on a project basis for consumer outreach during its large-scale promotional events. Billings were undisclosed.
Pathmann said that ATC's current focus would be engaging both consumer and trade media for its current TXT2Win promotion, where consumers within the Alltel network have a chance to win $1 million for home makeovers. The company is working with television home makeover expert Ty Pennington on the promotion.
ATC will also help with Alltel's partnership with the Atlantic Coast Conference, sponsored coach appearances, and autograph days with sports teams.
Pathmann said ATC was chosen based on its sports expertise. GMR Marketing, Alltel's sports and entertainment marketing agency, introduced ATC to the company.
ATC will manage the Alltel account from its Charlotte, NC, office, with support from its NY headquarters. Alltel also works with the Brunswick Group on corporate communications.
