ANAHEIM: The Anaheim Mighty Ducks hockey team has reconfigured its marketing and communications departments after new owners finalized their purchase of the team.

Henry and Susan Samueli purchased the team and Anaheim Arena Management (AAM), the company overseeing its arena, for a reported $75 million in June.

Bob Wagner, the previous VP and CMO of AAM, is now SVP and CMO of both entities, leading the broadcasting, sponsorship, ticket sales, marketing, community relations, and communications departments.

Alex Gilchrist, director of communications and team services for the Mighty Ducks, and Julie Sediq, director of PR for AAM, will report to Wagner.

Merit Tully, manager of communications for the Mighty Ducks, and Emily Koch, coordinator of PR for AAM, will round out the communications department.

In related news, Charles Harris, former director of publicity and community development, has left the team.

A representative from the Mighty Ducks would neither comment on Harris' departure nor on a potential replacement.

Harris did not comment on the departure, but said that he already lined up some consulting work in the Southern California area and was "looking forward to exploring new options."

Harris, who previously ran a tech PR firm in Israel, said his experience and opportunities extended to multiple industries.

Wagner joined the team as director of sales and marketing for its inaugural season in 1993. He left in 2000 for a position at the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), but joined AAM last year.
