SAN FRANCISCO: Ruder Finn has named Howard Solomon, the agency?s EVP of regional operations, as MD of its San Francisco office.
Solomon is currently MD of the Chicago office, and will start his new role in the Bay Area on July 1. He will continue to be involved with the Chicago office until a new Chicago MD is named. Solomon will keep the title of EVP of regional operations, and will continue to report to Richard Funess, president of Ruder Finn/Americas.
Solomon replaces Jessica Switzer, whose firm ? Switzer Communications ? RF acquired in early 2003. Switzer will stay with the agency in a new role as EVP of client service.
Switzer said she wanted to move away from the day-to-day demands of managing an office to focus more on client service, team building, and business development.
This move is the latest in changing regional leadership for RF. In early June, David Nobs joined the Los Angeles office as MD. And in March, Barbara Shipley joined the Washington, DC office as MD.
?The move just made sense,? said Solomon. ?I?m a tech person, and a good part of our business is in the Bay Area.? Solomon added that he wants to focus on building a stronger tech presence for RF in the Bay Area.
Solomon has spent the past eight years with RF in Chicago. Prior to that he worked in RF?s New York office. He has also worked for Kahn Communications Group, Cohn & Wolfe, and Rowland Worldwide.
