NEW YORK: PR Newswire has introduced MediaSense, a service designed as an introduction to measurement for companies previously unable to afford such services.

MediaSense offers quantitative and qualitative analysis of print and online media coverage. Users can choose to use the service in 90-day blocks or for the entire year. Reports will be available once per month, though clients may request to receive them more frequently.

"We wanted to offer this product for crisis communications, for product launches, for immediate needs," said Susan McPherson, VP of strategic accounts.

Reports will include such details as volume, tone, and overall quality of coverage, as well as the presence of corporate messages.

The service also tracks competitors, key messages, and media topics. It is powered by KWHR Network Ltd., a London-based measurement firm.
