LONDON: Financial Dynamics has acquired LLM, a UK-based independent public affairs consultancy, adding a UK capability in public affairs to its existing DC offering.

Charles Watson, FD group CEO, said that while many of the details were still being worked out, he hoped the public affairs offices in London and Washington would quickly become streamlined. Washington executives were in London this week to meet their new UK counterparts.

FD launched its public affairs practice in 2004 when it established its Washington office.

"There's enormous opportunity in the public affairs space," Watson said. "European companies that want to do business in the States want access to Capitol Hill, and US companies that want to do business in Europe want access to [governments in] Brussels and London."

LLM has 23 staffers and more than 30 clients. The acquisition comes after five years of collaboration between the two firms.
