KANSAS CITY, MO: H&R Block, the international tax return preparation and financial services company, has hired Scott Dudley as its new AVP of investor relations.

Dudley's position is the top IR post in the company. He will be overseeing one other IR practitioner, and will report to H&R Block's EVP and CFO William Trubeck.

Dudley is replacing former AVP of IR Mark Barnett, who left the company for an IR position at Nationwide Financial, according to H&R Block communications director Nick Iammartino.

Dudley previously worked as a director of IR for The Brink's Company, a business and security services corporation based in Virginia. Before that, he was a VP at Fleishman-Hillard, and worked in IR positions for companies including FPL Group, Kansas City Power and Light, and the Foster Wheeler Corp.

Dudley will now be communicating on behalf of a company that tallied $4.2 billion in revenues and nearly $700 million in profits in 2004.
