NEW YORK: Monster Worldwide, parent company of popular job search site and Weber Shandwick client Monster.com, has issued a global RFP.

"Due to aggressive growth and increased global presence, Monster Worldwide has issued an RFP to consolidate its PR spending across all of the company's divisions throughout the world," read a statement by Robert Burke, director of global branding.

The company declined to comment beyond the statement. While the parent company is based in New York, Monster. com is headquartered in Maynard, MA, outside Boston.

Monster.com appointed WS its AOR in 1999 following a competitive RFP. The agency has worked on numerous programs for the popular website, including promoting its Super Bowl commercials, new initiatives such as Monster Health Care and Monster Public Service, and various thought-leadership programs.

WS was unavailable for comment.

"This new opportunity, which will help further leverage our global brand and messaging in a common and consistent approach, is part of a company-wide procurement review process and not a reflection on the performance of any of the PR agencies that support the company throughout the world," the Monster statement continued.

The 11-year-old company operates websites in 26 countries, including Hong Kong, India, and the Czech Republic. Monster Worldwide also owns TMP Worldwide, one of the largest recruitment advertising agency networks.
