NEW YORK: ABC Radio Networks has named Omar Thomspon VP of marketing and communications. He will oversee all relevant initiatives in the company's news/talk, sports, music and entertainment, and Hispanic and urban formats.
Thompson most recently served as VP of marketing and communications for Clear Channel Radio.
He said his goal would be to develop and maintain a focused message for the brand.
"The consistency in messaging will go a long way," he said. "The priority is focusing on things that will move the needle from a business standpoint."
There have also been PR changes elsewhere in ABC. Kevin Brockman, SVP of communications of the Disney-ABC Television Group, recently announced a change in the communications group structure. It will now contain six departments.
Nicole Nichols has been promoted to SVP of entertainment communications. Sharon Williams will assume the role of SVP, communications resources.
Patti McTeague has been promoted to VP, kids communications. Jeffrey Schneider will continue his role as VP of ABC news communications.
Julie Hoover, VP of corporate communications, will continue to oversee the overall corporate presence of the group. Siobhan Kenny will assume the role of international communications.
