SAN FRANCISCO: Silicon Image, a provider of semiconductors, has selected Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide as its global AOR.

Ogilvy will help Silicon Image with an ongoing rebranding campaign, traditional media relations, thought-leadership positioning, and influencer seeding. It will focus on the North American and Asian markets.

Silicon Image's primary audience is consumer electronics manufacturers and retailers, but the agency will also promote its products to early adopters in the hope that they would impel those electronics manufacturers to adopt the company's chips.

Ogilvy's San Francisco office will manage the account, and its Beijing office will represent the agency in Asia.

"While there will be one voice from a messaging point of view, we'll leverage our  understanding of how to reach different markets," said Luca Penati, global technology practice managing director.

Penati said it was a competitive pitch for the account, involving four finalists. Billings were undisclosed.
