MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA: Elliot Schrage has joined Google as VP of global communications and public affairs. He will report to CEO Eric Schmidt.
Prior to joining Google, Schrage was with the New York-based Council on Foreign Relations, where he was the Bernard L. Schwarz Senior Fellow in business and foreign policy, and an advisor to global corporations on issues of corporate social responsibility. Schrage has also served as an SVP at Gap, overseeing global affairs. He was also an MD with Clark & Weinstock, a public policy and management consulting firm. Earlier this year, Google announced it had hired Dan Senor as VP of global communications strategy, but Senor never started with the company. Senor was previously a senior advisor to L. Paul Bremer, administrator of the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq. Senor served as the chief spokesperson until the recent the handover of power in Iraq.Google taps Schrage to head PR
