BELLEVUE, WA: Wendy Grover has joined newly public online travel company Expedia as VP of corporate communications, a new position. Expedia spun off from parent company IAC earlier this year.
Grover said she wants to build the brand among partners and customers to show that Expedia is more than just a place to make travel reservations.
"I want Expedia to be high touch and high trust, not just about making a transaction," said Grover, who reports to CEO Dara Khosrowshahi. "I want to demonstrate our leadership and the depth of the new management, and to make sure partners and customers know that the experience we provide is personalized and customized."
Grover joins from Wells Fargo, where she was an SVP overseeing PR for the company's online presence. She has also worked for Burson-Marsteller and Ogilvy Adams & Reinhart.
